Your everyday spending could be doing more for you

The weekly shop. Your train ticket. A takeaway at the end of a long day.

It’s the kind of spending most people don’t think twice about. But with some rewards Credit Cards like the American Express® Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card, these purchases can earn you added benefits.

Earn points to spend on the things you love

Rewards credit cards are designed to give you something back, whether that’s points, cashback or added perks.

For example, with the American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card, you can earn Membership Rewards® points on eligible purchases and use them in a way that suits you - whether that’s shopping online, redeeming Gift Cards, booking travel or even reducing your Card balance.

You’ll earn one point for virtually every £1 spent on eligible purchases.  Plus, for every £10,000 spent per year, you’ll received 5,000 bonus points - up to a maximum of 10,000 bonus points.

New Cardmembers may also be eligible for a welcome bonus if they haven’t held a personal American Express® Card in the past 24 months.

For a limited time, new Cardmembers can earn 40,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when approved for the Card and spending £5,000 within the first six months of Cardmembership. That’s equivalent to £200 if you redeem the points for Gift Cards.

Offer ends 26 May 2026. Terms apply, 18+, subject to status.

Making the most of dining and experiences

Beyond points, other benefits are geared towards lifestyle, whether it’s a midweek dinner or a weekend treat.

With the American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card, Cardmembers can receive £5 back twice a month with Deliveroo when enrolled - that’s up to £120 back each year on takeaways or dining at home.

There’s also access to American Express Experiences®, which can include presale or reserved tickets for selected events across music, theatre, dining and more.

Travel benefits when you need them

If you travel - even occasionally - the American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card includes benefits to make your journey smoother.

You’ll receive four complimentary Priority Pass airport lounge visits each year, giving you access to over 1,300 lounges worldwide. It’s a chance to relax, enjoy a meal, or simply unwind before your flight.

You can also use your Membership Rewards points towards travel through American Express Travel or transfer them to selected loyalty partners.
