There’s also an additional opportunity to win a £250,000 mega prize in the December draw.
Santander launched a new prize draw on 10 August, giving current account customers the opportunity to win a share of £100,000 in cash each month between now and December. Up for grabs each month is one prize of £25,000, alongside two lots of £10,000, 50 pots of £500 and finally, 300 smaller prizes of £100.
Once December rolls around, there’s an extra opportunity to win big. In addition to the monthly prize draw, every entry between August and December will be included in a mega prize draw, where one lucky customer will take home a sizeable £250,000 in January 2027.
"We're always looking for ways to reward our customers and help them get more from their everyday banking,” Gail Russell, Head of Everyday Banking at Santander UK, commented. “This new prize draw gives customers the opportunity to win cash prizes for going about their everyday banking activities, whether that's keeping money in their accounts or using their Santander credit card for day-to-day spending,” she continued.
Customers need to be over 18 and a UK resident to qualify for the prize draw and must opt in online, in-branch, over the phone or via the Santander mobile app, after which they could be eligible to enter up to three times per month.
Anyone who has one of Santander’s current accounts holding £100 at the end of the month will be entered once, and similarly, people who have £100 in one of the provider’s savings accounts by the same time frame will qualify for entry. Alternatively, those with a Santander credit card simply need to make a purchase of any amount on their card during the month to enter.
If you have a qualifying current account, savings account and credit card, you could have three chances per month to win the various prize pots. The draws take place at the end of the month, and any winners will be paid their prizes by the end of the following month.
With the extra opportunity to win big in the December draw, each of your monthly entries up until then count as an entry for the chance to win £250,000. For example, if you enter the prize draw nine times before December, you will be entered into the mega draw nine times.
Winners of the prize draw will be contacted by email and mobile banking where possible, with prizes paid into their Santander personal current account. Those who win the £10,000 and £25,000 prizes will additionally be contacted by phone.

Eligible accounts include any current account, savings account or credit card held with Santander.
“The prize draw from Santander is very accessible as it just requires a small holding sum of £100 in a current or savings account, or a single purchase with one of its credit cards,” Rachel Springall, Finance Expert at Moneyfactscompare.co.uk, commented. “The Everyday Current Account is fee-free, its Regular Savings account pays 8%, and it has a Reward Credit Card that pays 3% in cashback,” she continued.
While Springall acknowledges the top prize of £25,000 every month is “enticing”, alongside the mega prize draw with the opportunity to win £250,000, she highlighted that “it’s always worth shopping around with a variety of banks and building societies to compare bank or savings accounts, and credit cards, to ensure a product is the right fit”.
“Consumers can always choose to have more than one bank account, many are tailored to suit different needs, so alongside a primary account, the other one could be used for earning cashback or on holidays abroad,” she added.
While prize draws can be a fun way to earn some extra money, it’s important to always compare the different current accounts, credit cards and savings accounts available on the market first to ensure the choice you make is the most suitable for you.
