Alongside a new Moneyfacts Annual Star Rating, the ‘Easy to Open’ logo and filter will help consumers identify fuss-free accounts.
With feedback suggesting ease of opening is a key factor considered by consumers when looking for a savings product, Moneyfactscompare.co.uk has today introduced a new feature to our charts that will help users identify accounts which can be applied for with minimal fuss.
Over recent days, visitors to our site may have noticed a new ‘Easy to Open’ logo displayed in the top right-hand corner of listings on our personal savings and ISA charts; this is in recognition of a provider receiving a Moneyfacts ‘Easy to Open’ four- or five-Star Rating – new to 2025.
As of today (2 October 2024), users can apply a filter to these charts so only accounts that can be opened easily (as demonstrated by having earned a four- or five-Star Rating) are visible. To do so, simply select ‘Easy to Open’ under the ‘Filter’ dropdown menu located at the top of our personal savings and ISA charts.
While our team of experts conduct in-house analysis, we also rely on feedback from both providers and consumers to determine the recipients of our Moneyfacts ‘Easy to Open’ Star Ratings.
Providers are asked to supply details of the time taken and the steps involved in getting an application for a savings account approved; this is then verified using the real-life experiences of Moneyfactscompare.co.uk users.
The ease of finding the account on the provider’s website, opening methods (including the availability of online and app-based banking) as well as any useful tools and the availability of support are also taken into consideration.
Although the initial registration may take longer, accounts accessible via a third-party savings platform will receive a Moneyfacts ‘Easy to Open’ Star Rating due to the additional service they provide.
As our new ‘Easy to Open’ feature relies on consumer feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with your recent experiences of opening any of the personal savings accounts listed on our charts.
